To celebrate our 80th birthday, we recently launched a new community initiative called Pillars of Our Community, which allocates $40,000 each year to deserving area non-profits. The program enables each branch location to partner with a local or neighborhood charity of their choosing each year. The program is funded out of the Franklin Federal Foundation which is budgeted to contribute approximately $600,000 to area non-profits this year.
Each partnership includes a $5,000 donation, as well as volunteer support and distribution of the organizations’ information for a calendar year. Branches kicked off each partnership with a check presentation honoring the selected non-profit and the broader initiative.
“We wanted to create a program that truly connected each branch with their neighbors. Although our Foundation distributes hundreds of thousands of dollars each year to area non-profits, we don’t always witness the benefits first hand,” said Cindy Womack, Senior Vice President for Branch Operations. “We’re looking forward to a productive and rewarding year.”
